Our Occupational therapy Assistants can assist with the following:
- Supports allied health professionals such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists with clients by providing rehabilitative services to persons with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments.
- Develop and manage therapeutic programs that deliver holistic care to clients & their families.
- Lead children who have developmental disabilities in play activities that promote coordination and socialization
- Assist participants to do therapeutic activities, such as stretches and other exercises
- Monitors activities to make sure they are performed correctly and provides encouragement, bringing treatment that is not having the intended effect to the attention of the therapist.
- Helps participants improve their quality of life by helping them compensate for physical limitations or teaching a person with learning disabilities to enhance their language, literacy & numeracy skills, to prepare meals or to use public transportation and increase their independence.
